Ever feel like everything is crashing down on you?

Work, Life, Balance…Schmalance?

(Err….that’s not really French, but you know what I mean…)

Too much social media, too much email, voicemail and im’s. Magazines, books, and articles to read keep piling up on our bedside tables. Life goals keeping adding up: marriage, kids, buying a home, buying a car, moving, changing jobs, starting a new business and on it goes.

It’s enough to drive anyone batty and make us just want to stay under the bed covers all day long!

We even have people like Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg, who said in an interview, “There’s no such thing as work-life balance. There’s work, and there’s life, and there’s no balance.”

I call mérde on that. Stinky, dark, BULL mérde!

You absolutely can be, do, and have it all!

The Tool I Use to Balance My Life

You may have heard of the Wheel of Life. My version is called the Diamond of Life and it’s my magical tool.

Why a diamond? Well, I see my life as big ol’ sparkly jewel. When I’m not paying attention to certain “facets” of this jewel, it’ll start getting rugged, dirty and the whole thing starts to lose its shine.

So you need to keep polishing the entire gem so that your diamond will sparkle brilliantly!

From the Irresistible Life Playbook

It looks like this:

1. Career (Business)

2. Finance (Bank

3. Health (Body)

4. Love (Boo)

5. Family (Beloved)

6. Personal development (Boost)

7. Happiness (Bliss)

8. Environment (Backdrop)

Of course, tweak the facets according to what’s going on in your life! When I was in college, family (marriage and kids) wasn’t something I was vaguely interested in, but finding a job definitely was! When I’m training for a competition, health is always one of my top priorities.

How Does the Diamond Help you Maintain Balance?

Life is constant fluctuation of one area with another. You juggle your love life and career, your happiness with your bank account and cleaning your home with your family.

When things get really busy, we tend to forget the other areas until it’s too late. Your business starts taking off and you find yourself working on the weekends and spending less and less time with your spouse. Your kids have a bunch of after school programs and activities and you end up spending less time on your own happiness. You go on a wonderful vacation and any healthy eating and exercise goes out the window.

Filling out the Diamond of Life at least once a month will help you stay on track! You’ll see where you’ve been spending the majority of your energy and where you need to pay more attention in order stay in peaceful balance. You’ll also be reminded of facets that you’ve forgotten about.

What a Genius Thinks About Balance:

“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.” — Albert Einstein

Weeeeee!

Weeeeee!

Babydoll, it’s Einstein! The guy was a genius!

If you want balance in your life, ya gotta keep moving, keep examining, keep progressing!

Life is constantly shifting. There is never anything that is always (and I mean every single moment of every single day) the most prominent facet of the entire diamond!
